Temperature Classes

The fact that different gases will ignite at different temperatures determines the permissible maximum surface temperatures of equipment. This list shows the maximum surface temperatures for the different classes. It follows that equipment suitable for T6 temperature class does not exceed a temperature of 85°C and must therefore be suitable for use with gases T5, T4, T3, T2 and T1 all of which permit a higher surface temperature.
