Rugged Automation for Ireland’s Toughest Environments
Moving Machinery Requires Unshakable Reliability
In the field, on the construction site, or at the dockside, there is no room for delicate electronics. Equipment here faces constant vibration, Irish rain, mud, and salt spray. At TEKTRON, we don’t just supply parts; we engineer complete automation solutions designed to survive these extremes.
Leveraging world-class components from partners like Turck and Banner Engineering, combined with our 30+ years of integration expertise in Cork, we build systems that keep your mobile assets moving, safe, and efficient. From retrofitting safety sensors on existing fleets to designing control panels for new OEM machinery, we are your local engineering partner.
Smart Farming & Agriculture
Modern agriculture is no longer just about horsepower; it’s about precision. Whether it’s automated harvesting, precision spraying, or livestock management, the electronics must withstand high-pressure washdowns (IP69K) and aggressive chemicals. We help Irish agri-businesses reduce waste and increase yield through intelligent sensing.
Key Applications:
Automated Positioning: Integration of rotary encoders and inclinometers to monitor the exact angle of booms and steering axles on uneven terrain.
Blockage Detection: Real-time flow monitoring for seed drills and sprayers to prevent untreated rows.

Mobile & Construction Equipment
For excavators, refuse trucks, and municipal vehicles, safety is the priority. Blind spots and operator fatigue are major risks. TEKTRON designs and installs safety ecosystems that protect both your workforce and your machinery, ensuring compliance with the strictest safety regulations.
Key Applications:
Collision Avoidance: We integrate radar and ultrasonic arrays that give operators visual and audible feedback about obstacles in blind spots. Unlike cameras alone, these active systems work in fog and heavy rain.
Mobile Control Panels: Custom-built, ruggedized HMIs for inside the cab, allowing precise control of hydraulics and attachments.

Port Infrastructure & Marine
Saltwater is the enemy of standard electronics. Port equipment—from Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes to Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)—requires specialized protection. We provide corrosion-resistant automation solutions that ensure high availability for 24/7 port operations.
Key Applications:
Crane Positioning: Precise gantry and trolley positioning using long-range laser measurement and absolute encoders.
Wireless Data Transmission: Replacing failure-prone festoon cables with robust industrial wireless networks for reliable communication between moving cranes and the control center.

Common Questions
We have a rquirement for connecting different instruments and fieldbus devices and don't know what connectors or cables with connectors to specify. Can you help us?
Absolutely. Connectors and receptacles seem like a simple item to specify, until you encounter keyway coding, pin numbers, sizing and threading before getting into cable specifications to fieldbus standards and even outer colours. It is a minefield. But we are there to help you.Â
I just know the inputs and outputs I need? Can you quote for a Zone 1 system with ethernet comms?
Yes. Our team standard solutions for all such configurations. We can quote, provide drawings, build, test at our workshops (Factory Acceptance Tests), deliver and even commission the control panels directly at your facility.
